A fingerprint scanner to enable biometric security measures
Microsoft Fingerprint Scanner is a program that works with certain fingerprint scanners to add an extra layer of security to your computer.
There's no such thing as too much security on a system. As hackers become bolder and create better tools, it's only natural that the good guys would start to develop new methods of securing their own systems. While there's a great deal that's been done in cyberspace to stop people from remotely accessing systems, you're still looking at many of the same old security systems in the physical space. One system that's really starting to stand out, though, is biometric security. One must-have program for those who use this type of security is the Microsoft Fingerprint Scanner.
As you might expect, this program isn't a physical fingerprint scanner. Rather, this is the program you use to work with the scanner you've already purchased. You can set up this program to work with a number of different scanners on the market and determine what a positive and negative result on the scanner will do for your system. Think of this is the primary lock on your computer - it can work as a replacement for a password and will keep people who shouldn't have access out.
There are a few minor problems that keep this program from being perfect. It's still a bit hard to get used to, and there are some security settings that probably could have been added. As far as basic fingerprint scanning programs go, though, this is a good one. There are more robust security options out there, but this one is perfectly good for those who just want an extra layer of physical protection on their systems.
